Community Medicine Department, NWSM launched an awareness campaign against tobacco in educational institutions to protect young generation from this menace. The first session was conducted in Pak Turk Maarif (International Schools & Colleges). Prof. Dr. Waqar Ali delivered a session on the negative consequences of Tobacco on Friday 26th May. Faculty members reinforced the message in small group format along with the distribution of pamphlets.

With more than 8 million people falling prey to Tobacco induced mortality; Tobacco remains the single most preventable cause of ailment.

This session also marked “World No Tobacco Day”, formally observed annually on the 31st of May.
